Spyderco used to pose a challenge to folks who were skeptical about carrying a knife every day: wear one for a month, then try to go a week without it.
I've used mine for everything from opening mail and breaking down cardboard boxes, to cutting takeout food into bite-sized pieces for my 2-year old, to removing tags from from clothing that I wanted to wear out of the store, to scraping a splinter out of the heel of my hand.
And that's just this week.
For me, it was one of those, "How did I ever live without one of these" kind of acquisitions.
FWIW, the most-used implement on the multi-tools I own is the pliers, because the knife blade is usually an afterthought compared to a dedicated knife. IF MTs had better knife blades, it would get the most use. But even if I'm packing a MT, I will still carry a knife for cutting tasks.
