I've been a huge fan of Stephan's work since the first time I laid eyes on his iconic image of Merckx. The Dutch have an incredible style of photojournalism that stands heads above anything produced here in the states and Stephan's work is no exception. It's more artful and less about objectively communicating.
Stephan's portraits were
inspiration for a series of portraits I shot at some local time trials. I really need to get back out there and make a few more.
