What are listening to?

For me, this has to rank among the all time best performances Jimmy Page ever did, and that's saying something.

As a fellow clawhammer banjo player, I've been enjoying Toronto player Chris Coole and his side project Lonesome Ace String Band. Good stuff...

Interesting. I've been playing clawhammer for a long time myself. Hard to tell, but it looks like he was either playing a (Fairbanks) Vega Whyte Laydie #3 or a Tubaphone #3. What do you think?

Been listening to an Alabama bluegrass group called Ironhorse. They're probably best known for bluegrass covers of rock tunes, but their own material is really good.

Howdy fellow banjoist,

Chris was one of the instructors at the Nashville Clawhammer camp I attended 2 years ago--awesome teacher. I believe it is a Vega Whyte Laydie banjo but I'm not sure.

Cheers,

David

I've never been much for bluegrass but I stumbled onto Mandolin Orange a few years ago and fell in love with their music.
