Custom bikes for a 7-footer

Saw this in a Facebook group I'm in and thought y'all might enjoy. Check out the guy's old serotta and his new ride it's leaning up against!

I believe this is the first 700cc-to-26" conversion that I have seen.

tuscanyswe 12-01-2016 08:32 AM

Wow what wheel size is that on the mtb? 1400c ?

ANAO 12-01-2016 08:33 AM

They're 36"!

The business owner posted the picture.

The chainstays on that Serotta should be 5cm+ longer.

Yes. Way too much weight over the rear wheel. Zinn does a better job with oversized frames.

I like the description of the 36er on the website - Size Small fits riders 6'5"-6'9"

I feel bad for the saddle rails.

ColonelJLloyd 12-01-2016 11:02 AM

Now THAT is a proper use for 36" wheels.

That Serotta looks wrong in so many ways.

There's no way that Legend was custom-built for the guy who's currently riding it.

ultraman6970 12-01-2016 12:32 PM

Yeah, looks like was made for a guy even bigger hehehehe :D

36 inches wheels??? I did not know what to think of the picture till I read 36 inches wheels?? How is that even possible? Gotta have to go out more often.

For large size people wheels that size are the way to go.

I have to say, the bikes are just perfect in any way IMO. You look at the pictures if you did not know everything is giant size you could swear is a regular 29r maybe. Great IMO.

BTW, where do you get tires, rims and spokes for this things??? Never seen them even in catalogs.

I found that giant was going to make wheels in this size and bicycles aswell.

I bet the builder is the sole supplier.
