OT: seen a cybertruck on the road?

I did, for the first time, on my ride today.

This abomination makes the designers at AMC who came up with the Gremlin and the Pacer seem like Michelangelo in comparison. Saying it looks like it was beaten with an ugly stick is an insult to the ugly sticks.

Feh.

Junk comes in many styles.

My understanding is that it will revolutionize pickup truck ownership and off road capabilities.

I read it on the internet so it must be true.

I saw one on the 405 last weekend. It looked to me like an adolescent's depiction of a dystopian future, which I guess it sort of is. That said, if people wanna buy 'em, that's 100% their business, I figure, though I gotta wonder if they've seen any of the news stories and videos about the tolerances, seals, etc.

Yea, I've seen them in the wild as well. It's obvious that they are designed to be polarizing in a "look at me!!" way. Not a fan.

I saw one at the showroom right after it became public. I was surprised by its relatively diminutive size. Relative is the key word here. It’s smaller than most full size pickup lifestyle trucks that make a trip to Home Depot for dirt a couple times a year. Styling is highly subjective. I didn’t hate it as much as I thought I might.

But it’s not for me. Lifestyle pickups aren’t for me anyway, except maybe the Rivian. If I need a harder worker it has to pull a serious camper for me to live in.

It’s not for me, but I didn’t dislike it as much as I thought I might. Of course, that was sitting in a showroom, not on a road. I haven’t yet seen one in the wild.

saw one today, all matte black...

don't love it, don't hate it. it's just another vehicle to be aware of and avoid.

It looked like a real life depiction of a Picasso painting.

Saw one in December parked at a local mtb trail (Soquel Demo). Very popular place for mtn biking but kinda out of the way and not exactly a beginner’s place so I was surprised to see it there. Truck was marked prototype and was missing some fender pieces.

That’s funny, I was talking to my son on FaceTime yesterday while he was walking on Montana in Santa Monica. He showed me one driving by. Maybe the same one!

They are godawful ugly and pretty shameful since the first Model S was such an elegant design.

The design is a statement. You may not like the statement.

Wait until these owners find out about the corrosion properties of stainless steel.
