Speedvagen Warehouse Sale

Posted on the gram… between the departure of some folks including crumbs and this sale I can’t help but wonder if something’s up at the vagen, wishing them well!

I just saw that post and came here to ask the same question… are they slowing things down???

I know Crumbs recently left, and I hadn’t noticed until now but their IG page has only been posting around once a month for the past several months… definitely seems like something is “off”.

Anyone in the know and able to chime in? I would be so bummed if things were heading south for them — I consider them one of the most iconic/influential brands of the past decade.

Selling milling machines, frame-building supplies, and furniture certainly doesn't look good...

They probably just need to make room for the carbon e-bike manufacturing...

Yeah I like seeing pics of steel bikes, but overall I'd say the demand is WAY down, especially at the price points. Steel ain't real anymore...... .02

Sacha posted and said they are not closing in the thread.

Having visited the workshop,it was crammed with stuff. I'm sure when they moved they did what we all do and said do I really want to keep this.

As an example they had an entire room of past surprise mes and surfboards stacked on each other.

If anyone goes and can snag paint room pattern socks in an xl I'll make it worth your while.

If that's the case they should have explained things better. "In an effort to give us some breathing space, we need to get rid of excess xxxxxxx"

They will be closing shop. Some of the employees want to keep the brand by moving production to Asia.

Confirmed? It seems Sacha's comments made it sound like they were just doing something different. I do think they kind of jumped the shark with the crazy customs and wait for bikes that weren't always "race bikes". Of all the brands though, going to Asia doesn't seem weird to me for them to keep milking it. They were always about crazy paint and special tubes versus having a master welding/creating the bike.

I'd guess they'll build up some hype again with a new name, Vanilla -> Speedvagen -> something?

I heard "Mint Chip" was in the lead.

I picked up an Anvil Jig from a previous yard sale as they were upgrading to newer versions and were de cluttering all the orphaned stuff from running a business that naturally accumulates. There were some real gems to be had! Cool forks, parts, wish I could go again. I went with raindogs years ago when we both lived in Vancouver BC.

Also, if anyone goes and they have the enve stems with the built in cantilever guide cable, I may be interested.

Thinking of selling stuff off, makes sense, how much demand is there for straight head tube stock or quick release drop outs?

Most annoying way to have a sale ever..
