Will Sugino 75 Track BB with ISO taper work with Campy Cranks?

I have a cache of campy cranks that take the 111 symetrical spindle

Can I use a Sugino 75 Track BB with ISO taper with Campy Cranks, the centaur square tapers ones that take a 111 spindle, assuming I have chainstay clearance?

Thanks D

As the former owner of a pair of Mavic cranks, I'd recommend against it.

IDK if it was my ham fistedness or the different taper, but I sure-as-shootin cracked that crankarm at the spindle hole.

Up to you tho.

For a more definitive answer, check Sheldon Brown's site.

iso is iso.

but the campy cranks might need a longer bb than the 102/103mm sg75bb to clear the stays?

There were two taper standards - Campy and Shimano - and I don't recall what taper Sugino used. If you use one type of crank on the other type of spindle things get unhappy.

sugino 75 cranks use an iso taper.

Shimano uses JIS taper.

Sugino 75 cranks DO use ISO taper so yes, you can use it.

Mavic cranks were JIS, Sugino 75 is ISO. Superbe Pro/Pista is ISO also, for info.

IIRC I've used 108mm BB w/ Sugino 75 and had good chainline using Phil hubs and EAI cogs. At 111 it might be off a bit. There is good info and a few spacing charts here.

thanks guys

I appreciate it. The Sugino 75 is ISO, campy style. 109 vs 111 is not a biog deal, I assume it is symetrical.

Thanks

At some point in time Suntour used their own taper for their Superbe Pro cranks. Sheldon Brown remarks on this somewhere on his Suntour page. I recently tried 8 different ISO and JIS bottom brackets on one of these NOS cranksets until I finally capitulated and installed a Superbe Pro bottom-bracket. :crap:

Perhaps but on page 3-27 of my Sutherlands they specifically state Superbe Pro road and track cranks, SPB-tk and SPB-rd use a 'Campagnolo' taper of 109mm(Pista) and 111mm(road).
