Need confirmation: 6800 shifters work with 9100 derailleurs?

Broke my Shimano Ultegra 6800 rear derailleur and used the opportunity do a partial upgrade to buy Dura Ace 9100 rear and front derailleur.
Anybody tried whether and how well the 9100 derailleurs work with 6800 STI (shifters)?
TIA.

Shimano 10-speed road STI shifters work just fine with the XT and below 9-dpeed rear derailleurs. Can't say anything about the front though.

What Greg said.

New new stuff is backwards compatible with the old new stuff.

Mix and match away!

Oh, and the new rear derailleurs have longer cages if you want to run bigger cogs.

Yes.

Also I can confirm that 6800 STI works fine with a R8000 FD (what I'm running now on my road bike). Everything else minus the crankset is 6800. So 9100 FD instead would work the just as well.

That also helped me to decide to go with the 9100 rd

Work fine.

The official word is that the newest cranksets use slightly different chainring spacing that is optimized with newer, matching front derailers.

It sounds here like it's not a noticeable change though, and after all, the limit screws do allow some alteration of the cage travel.

Note that the 9100 and 8000 FD's use a low limit screw with a hi "boost" screw that acts more like a cable-tensioning adjustment for the outward travel of the cage (the actual, fixed hi-limit stop is built into the lever).
And there is an additional cable-tension screw as well!

You can also go with the new Ultegra 8000 front derailleur and save a few bucks. Same functionality.

[edit. Oops. Looks like someone already mentioned 8000 above and you already ordered)

Thanks for this. That will be helpful when I install and the fine adjustment is being done.
