Rad. And to think you could have converted my EVO Hi-mod instead.

Belt Drive Supersix EVO
UPDATE.
Got the frame in today. Weight on the frame, with derailleur hanger, bottle cage bolts, and braze on still attached is 960 grams after modifications. I'll still need to get a few more parts ordered, my initial hope of running a 70t belt ring in the front doesn't appear that it will work from a frame clearance standpoint, still a slight hope that I will be able to space it out for enough to work, but we'll find out on Monday when my Wheels Manufacturing eccentric bottom bracket shows up and I can really put it together and see where things fit. Now, for some photos. Which is really why any of us are here. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/07...897a1c719e.jpg http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/07...673677f76a.jpg http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/07...34f18d91d6.jpg http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/07...c9a1fecd18.jpg Joey at the Frame Doctor did an amazing job on this. He also sent the piece of frame he cut out back, and had it zip tied to the braze on. I was highly confused as to what that was when pulling out of the packaging. Here's the part of the seat stay he removed: http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/07...2f86be9d33.jpg http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/07...c4d5d54140.jpg Joey at the Frame Doctor also hooked me up big time on a set of FSA Integrated bars and stem. Those weigh in at 430g. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/07...cc827dc222.jpg http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/07...c6f27bce6c.jpg This thing is going to be very fun when it's done. |
Very cool indeed!

Super cool project. It's too bad drivetrain loss for most IGHs is so high, but I love belt drives for singlespeed applications.

Some seriously awesome work. A few more shots of my build. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/07...58933415e1.jpg http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/07...517d195f56.jpg My old broken 10sp DA di2 levers make another appearance! Lightest singlespeed levers I could get my hands on without shelling out more cash. Bottom bracket to arrive Monday. Then can slap cranks on this bad boy and see how my 70t belt ring fits.... |
Wowww.. looks like a fun project.. but is it worth it to limit yourself from wheel options by going belt?

Did you weight the frame before the mods? |

It's the # of teeth. Isn't 70x21 in belt drive is close to 53x16 in chaindrive IIRC. |
Correct. Was hoping to run a 70t ring up front and a 24t cog in the back. Think will have to go 55/20 to have frame clearance on the chain stay.

Got the eccentric bottom bracket in today, fits like a dream. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/07...530a8bc863.jpg
And as a result, was able to fit the cranks and the chainrings. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/07...f4ff428bb6.jpg http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/07...fdde26226b.jpg There's actually plenty of room on the frame for the 70t belt ring http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/07...78ba0ba2d1.jpg Non drive side http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/07...9bf4bf8058.jpg Have the belt already, just waiting on the cog for the back which should be in on Thursday, as well as some brake shoes. Other than that I've got everything I need. This thing is shaping up to be ridiculous. |
