Disc Brake pads for ekar, other disc campy?

Edit: we’ve confirmed this was inaccurate…

I heard in a bike shop yesterday that campy ekar disc brake pads are out of stock and have been for a long time (2 years?) and that is one reason no one is selling them and not using them on the world tour.

Anyone else heard this? My googling shows out of stock the few places I checked.

It takes about 10 seconds to search amazon and find out you can buy them and get them in one day. Your LBS, not surprisingly, may not know what they are talking about.

Personally, I buy mine from Condor and they also have the DB-410, which I have found to be great.

If you have the spring, you can also buy Magura pads that fit into the H11 and EKAR system, but you have to use your existing spring.

Thanks! They are a sram shop and have been known to lie before to cover their lack of knowledge or screwups.

Second on the db410. A nice upgrade from the already excellent first gen pads.
Excel had them in stock last time I looked.

Some people also like the swiss stop although I prefer the stock ones.

It appears that there is only one pad material (resin, i.e. organic) that has ben used on all Campagnol disc brake pads (DB-210, DB-310, DB-410). But there are some aftermarket pad makers that also make Campagnolo compatible sintered metallic pads, such as Kool-Stop:

For those that want a good EKAR brake pad - these are really cheap right now on Amazon.

The only thing is that you have to re-use your spring but it fits nicely and works great. Using it now on my bike.

$10 for both front and rear pads. These are metal, will squeal more and will take longer to bed in, but they will be much stronger and not suffer fade on long downhills.

The resin versions are even cheaper.

Did the Ekar springs fit on the pads from Amazon? When Campagnolo went from the original DB-210 pads (without springs) to the DB-310 & DB-410 pads (with springs), the friction material was narrowed to leave room for the spring "fingers" to fit.

Yes. I used the springs from the DB-310 and they slide on perfectly. The "sandwich" is nice and tight and goes into the caliper smoothly.

Just started using them so I can't say anything about their durability but at $10 for front and back, they are worth a shot!

Yea, I feel embarrassed now after even mentioning it. I should’ve looked harder first :)

Our local distributor has 350+ in stock, and about 50+ in stock of the DB-410, which is the updated pad from SR WRL.
