Another SoCal Masters Racing Douchebaggery
Seth has a good summary and link to video of a hideous and potentially criminal incident at Ladera Ranch that took out one of our local cycling coaches, John Walsh. While some viewers may say that this is just racing, Doyle has a rep and people who know him are clear that this was intentional.

Beyond the broken bones, he has bleeding on the brain: https://www.gofundme.com/2mjn6bg/donate https://pvcycling.wordpress.com/2017...elony-battery/ |

That's the SoCal way! Justin Williams, and that whole crew, just watch his Youtoube uploads. Legitimize it even more with some awesome rock music and slow-mo. Rubbin' is racin! etc and all that bull. That behavior is celebrated in that scene so why is it surprising when the chickens come to roost? Frankly I'm amazed one of the Williams or their buddies isn't breathing out of a tube by now.
It really sucks that this dude got hurt, and I hope there are some real world consequences for the offender because that's just plain bad. The guy who caused the crash sounds like a psycho! |
Ugh that's messed up

Earl, have you raced or ridden with Justin (or Cory).

That was a hard hit.
I can see this from both sides. It looks like the offender tried to steal the line from the offended, got in a bit over his head, made contact, hooked bars, and shook the offended rider off, which caused him to crash. However, if this guy has a history, which it appears that he does, then one has to question if it was reckless, or possibly intentional. As for the comments in the article regarding banning the offender from future races, a USAC official cannot "ban" a license holder from racing. They can penalize the rider for infractions, up to and including license suspension. The higher level penalties are usually done at the LA/USAC level. |
All done in the name of a hobby and fun. Just think of what this guy can do when there's really something on the line! Whatta stud!

Every time I consider a return to usac, I get a reminder.
Sucks bad someone had to learn the hard way... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
That's not "rubbing is racing" and he needs to be dealt with by the police or the racing community. In my day as districracing.if I had seen that, this guy would have had a very long vacation from racing. But I have actually seen worse. Even here in Louisiana.
