That's just dirty, classless riding. Especially after he waited for Quintana when he crashed. I expect there will be fireworks about this after the stage :bike:

cyclingnews reported that both movistar and bahrain went to the front and slowed the pace, waiting, before bahrain finally started racing again.

Wow, some questionable "tactics" there. At least Dumoulin is showing his strength by keeping the gap fairly consistent (so far). I have a feeling Quintana will be lambasted by the cycling media (and praised by the Columbian media) for not waiting.

edit: actually not sure if dumoulin is keeping the gap, I don't speak Italian... cycling news reporting that he's lost 2 minutes so far. Can anyone confirm?

2:15 at the top of the mountain... quintana will be like 30 secs behind the dutch at the end of the day.

Movistar, etc. all waited up, actually. There was nothing that appeared dirty to me.

Dumoulin is showing great courage/grinta.

Nibali is looking dangerous, but Quintana is hanging on like dog to a bone.

The last RAI update he had gone from ~2:30 down to around -1:50.

I was watching on Tiz and while they didn't attack, they certainly didn't slow up and eventually both put guys on the front. Sean Kelly even came out and called it "questionable", which is a strong statement for a guy who never takes sides.

wow 2:17... this will be really close...

31 secs over quintana, not bad, the dutch saved the day.

Yes, "dirty" was a poor choice of words in that context.

it was a sh*tty move, either way.

Odd. RAI stated the opposite, in fact complimented their sportsmanship as fair play for Dumoulin's gesture the other day.

The pace never slowed. Zakarin attacked two minutes after Dumoulin stopped. Bahrain pushed the pace a minute or so after Zakarin was brought back. I'd hardly consider that "waiting".
