OT: akelman makes history
For those of us who have been around the Paceline for a while, you couldn't ask for a more thoughtful contributor or generous buyer/seller than Ari. Well, here he is lending his thoughtful ways to the selection of UC Davis' first African American chancellor -- http://www.sacbee.com/news/local/edu...134044714.html
Ari studies history, so kind of interesting to be making some of it himself. |
Wow. Very cool.

Congrats :)

Image shows of for me, but no text. :(

Here you go, Louis:
http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/l...221-story.html Just to be clear, I played only a very small role in the process. Put another way, don't blame me if he doesn't do a great job! Kidding aside, he seems like a remarkable scholar and leader. I'm very exciting that he'll be joining us and VERY relieved that the search is over. |
sweet!

AA is a gent.

Very cool. Makes me feel old that the new chancellor was at Cal after me though!

Ari is a true scholar and gentleman.
Very impressive. Jeff |
Congrats on the mention Ari and also on the new recruit. It looks like he's going to be an incredible hire!

I think he's a remarkable guy. I mean, we'll see once he gets here, but he seems great. As for the press attention, I can live without it and the inevitable hate mail that follows (I won't share some of the highlights, because this is a family-friendly establishment).

Congratulations!

Congrats, Ari!
There were mixed feelings for him locally (for those who haven't clicked on the link; he was the Dean of Engineering at Georgia Tech, where I am working on my PhD), but I wish him all the best at UC Davis. |
