OT - bad movies you enjoy

Perhaps this subject has come up before, but I did not find it.
After watching a couple really bad movies in the last couple days I thought it might be fun to share some preferences.
Here are a few of mine.

Speed

Speed 2: Cruise Control (this one makes the first look good, especially the 20 minute grounding of the cruise ship at the end)

Point Break

My key to a bad movie is Keanu Reeves

eddief 01-22-2015 04:22 PM

not sure if they're bad

Robocop
The Terminator
Die Hard
Lethal Weopon

Army of Darkness
Joe Dirt

DRietz 01-22-2015 04:40 PM

Surprised nobody's said it - American Flyers!

It's so cheesy I swear I'm back home in Wisconsin.

dan682 01-22-2015 04:41 PM

The Rock - ridiculous plot, lots of explosions, stupid one-liners, nic cage...

Face/off - same reasons as above

gasman 01-22-2015 04:41 PM

Troll 2

I'd be surprised if more than a handful here have seen it.

bicimechanic 01-22-2015 04:45 PM

Con air.

old fat man 01-22-2015 04:50 PM

Identifying a trend here...

I still use "Be nice...until it's time to not be nice" ....That is a great (bad) flick :)

Tremors with Kevin Bacon. Must have seen it 50 times when the kids were young and we still rent it once in a while when they come home now.

nailed it!

Now I'll go read the rest of the thread.

Mousehunt, Nathan Lane is hilarious.
Ernie: He's Hitler with a tail. He's "The Omen" with whiskers. Even Nostradamus didn't see him coming!

Hey goddamit. Starship Troopers is an all time ace movie, every single premise and notion in science is wrong, it's totally cheesy and the costumes are beyond compare, and Denise Richards swans through it. What's not to like?

shovelhd 01-22-2015 05:31 PM

Deep Impact. Sounds like porn but it's not.

FlashUNC 01-22-2015 05:34 PM

Van Helsing.

Peak Hugh Jackman.

notsew 01-22-2015 05:38 PM

Man, I like all these movies, but my all time favorite bad movie is Waterworld. It never fails to entertain me, the cool boat, the awesome bad guy, I love it!

Boondock Saints. I may have to watch it tonight on the trainer.
Transformers, if that's a bad movie.

Can't stand either of them (although I think my disdain for Cage runs deeper). I often will catch parts of Johnny Utah in Point Break and sometimes Cage in the Rock and Con Air. So so bad.

TiDesigns- Good call on Big Trouble in Little China! I've only seen it on a couple of times since the '80's but I made sure to watch it.

miguel 01-22-2015 06:18 PM

my wife is an artist and sometimes goes away for month long residencies. while she's away i get to watch the best worst action movies and review/liveblog/comment on them at Man Movie Month. It's not just limited to manly movies but my wife's not a big fan of what i post there.

CNY rider 01-22-2015 06:26 PM

I can't get enough of Austin Powers........

victoryfactory 01-22-2015 06:39 PM

I like the James Bond movies with Pierce Brosnan and Roger Moore

donevwil 01-22-2015 06:44 PM

Too many legitimately good movies have been listed. We should set some kind of standard, maybe ratings of ≤ 3 stars on IMDb or something like that.

One of my fav's is Space Cowboys (3 stars).

Tropic Thunder is an annual event for my son and me.

Not exactly a bad movie, but I've watched "Spys Like Us" four times in the past month. FUN!

That does not fall into the bad movie category

That is a classic....much like Fletch (another great)

:)

kurto 01-22-2015 07:03 PM

Hot Rod is the best stupid/bad movie ever. Also, most Michael Bay stuff qualifies, especially the Transformers movies. The most recent one should have been called Explosions: The Movie, but I enjoyed it.

Okay, I'll have to fall back on Cherry 2000 and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. Classic apocalyptic porn, but still bad. :)

Ti Designs 01-22-2015 07:22 PM

Death Race 2000. How any of those actors went on to have acting careers is a mystery to me, and yet...
