Show me your bike with tan walled tires!

Considering tan walled clinchers on a steel frame with alloy campy 10 speed and would like to get some build ideas.

So please show me your tan walled tires on your bike!

Also, what clincher tires are you running?

**Edit - what is a "show me" thread without an opening picture?

a picture the Urban Velo photographer took of my Lundbeck Cycles travel road bike at NAHBS. The tires are Gran Bois Cerfs in 28mm. I have put this thing through the ringer since NAHBS logging at least 2k miles on it. Those tires on 32 spoke 3x wheels around 90psi is perfection for my type of riding, a mix of gravel and pavement.

I've got several sets of tan tires on the way. Pretty soon, all four of my wheelsets will be wearing tan.

Oooooooh.

Been wanting to see a raw bike with modern bits and tan/gum walls. It's been on my mind to do with the Moots.

I don't make a habit of it... the Food Whole is right around the corner from my apartment so I ride whatever is closest to the door when I go. The bike rack is visible through the windows so I usually peek out a few times if I'm in there for long.

It makes a lovely commuter too...

I doubt you'll want to run these fatties on your bike (and might have clearance issues), but these Grand Bois Hetres (42's) are smooth as butter!

I can post my Merckx tomorrow... the modern-w-gum-walls approach can come off looking serious.
... by which I mean: ... looks serious

happycampyer 05-26-2014 05:31 AM

Not exactly what you're looking for (not clinchers—these are 25mm FMB Competition CX's with silk casings), but you get the idea.

It's actually silver paint. '09 CAAD9 6 frame. It's also got a slight fade from dark to light silver and has fleck in it. I passed up the ultegra model for that and dumped all the tiagra bits just for the paint.

Here's a pic of my son's 1978 Colnago Super.

I've never seen a kid outgrow a bike more quickly.

Sold it to a nice guy in New Jersey that babies the daylights out of it. :)

was going to take a shot of the drive side but it fell over on a rock and tore a big hole in the bar tape while I was taking these pics

Nice Kirk. Maybe the red wasn't right after all, and the bike falling over was fate. ;)
